The CAMBER-BRACE was designed to solve the problem of the frame flexing when going into a turn. As with all of our products, it was built to improve the performance on the track, but the positive results have brought it to the streets.

To help understand the CAMBER-BRACE, refer to the following line drawings.

In the first picture, we can see how GM constructed the front cross member to bolt onto the frame rails. Note how tall the upper control arm mounting horns are form the main part of the cross member.

The middle picture shows the main frame rails and the lack of any other cross braces.

The third picture shows the angle of the upper control arm in relation to the lower control arm, which is fastened to the main area of the cross member. Notice also in the third picture that the upper front control arm bolt is the greatest distance from main part of the front cross member. This point is therefore more susceptible to flexing due to leverage applied to it in a cornering situation. The CAMBER-BRACE connects to this point on both sides and spans across the open area in front of the engine. By effectively boxing the front end this way, we have removed any flexing of the control arm mounting horns. By doing this, the front end angles that you set during alignments will stay at those angles when corning the car and help maintain a more constant contact patch of the tire to the ground. With the end result being higher speed into the corner, faster out of it, with quicker lap times and more security on the open road.

There are three models to chose from at this time, depending on your year of car and it's engine model.

The new ZR-1 Camber-brace, although different in appearance performs the same as all of our other Camber-brace models. The LT-5 engine utilizes much of the normally open areas of the C4 engine compartment. This is the reason we had to switch to a different material used in the construction of the new Camber-brace. We used various angles of the cross beam to actually increase the strength of the brace. The end result brings all the benefits of the Camber-brace to ZR-1 owners.

You'll feel the difference, enjoy the ride!!

(Please note, the standard color for all Camber-braces is a satin black powdercoat. Custom colors are available for an additional surcharge.)
